The PBAC (pictorial blood assessment chart) is a diagnostic tool developed by hematologists in the 1990s. It helps determine the severity of a menstrual cycle and when intervention is recommended.
The challenge is that most menstruators don’t know this tool exists. The bigger problem is: neither do doctors.
This project aims to propagate medical literacy and menstrual cycle education, to support individual agency over menstrual experience, and to teach how-to advocate for care. The message we have for menstruators is: “You’re not crazy. The institution is. There is a tool to get your needs met, it’s called The PBAC.”
